If you need high-quality lighting gels and filters, we stock a vast range of colours from industry-recognised manufacturers including LEE, LEE HT and Rosco Supergel. These are accurately consistent from batch to batch, long-lasting and dependable. Every filter is checked against a scientifically generated set of parameters. We can supply polarizing filters, filter packs and lighting masking foils. All filters and gels are available as sheets or rolls. We also supply Duracell Industrial batteries, formerly known as Duracell Procell, which are packed and designed for wholesale and professional trade customers. Types stocked include AA, AAA, C, D and PP3 batteries.

Our comprehensive stocks of photographic lamps, lighting gel filters and Duracell batteries are available within 24 to 48 hours from receipt of the order. How Do I Choose The Correct Photographic Lighting For A Broad Light Source?

The broader the light source, the softer the light. The narrower the source, the harder the light. A broad light source lessens shadows, reduces contrast, suppresses texture. A narrow light source does the opposite. This is because, with a broad source, light rays hit your subject from more directions, which tends to fill in shadows and give more even illumination to the scene. Browse our range above!

What Do LED Lightbulbs Offer For Photographers?

Photographing indoors meant, until recently, changing the White Balance in your digital camera to Tungsten. With incandescent light bulbs going the way of the dodo, things are not always easy. Some of the cheap LED (Light Emitting Diode) light bulbs available in the market may give you a whole rainbow of colours during their lifetime, instead of the “white” your eyes seem to see there

Are LED Lightbulbs Cost Effective For Photographers?

LED bulbs offer the same light as tungsten bulbs, but cost less, as they need less energy. Although the initial price is higher, even if prices are going down quickly, the investment pays off in the long term. LED lights are also easier to work with because they do not get as warm as the tungsten lights previously used in studios.

In fact, LEDs are more efficient: while 90% of the energy consumed by an incandescent light bulb is radiated as heat, rather than visible light, less than 10% of the energy consumed by an LED is emitted as heat. They are less prone to be the origin of a fire and do not burn if touched, as tungsten lights do.
