Philips TUV 55W HO G55T8. Philips 55 watt ultraviolet lamp used in air and water disinfection systems. Common applications are Pond UV Filters and clarifiers, Residential Drinking Water Systems and Air Disinfection units. They are 99.9% effective against bacteria, viruses and other harmful pathogens. Philips ultraviolet lamps have the lowest percentage of lamps that fail prematurely in the market.

To run any of the above 55 watt uv lamps, you will have a ballast or control unit in your system. We recommend the Philips PureVOLT ballast which will run the Philips, Osram and Ledvance lamps above.

Another integral part of your uv system is the quartz sleeve which provides a  barrier between your lamp and direct contact with the water. The most popular sizes we regularly sell are either 871 or 890mm long. We recommend replacing these after 2 years as the glass can become discoloured and can no longer be cleaned. This will hinder uv-c light transmission and make your uv system not as effective as it should be. All quartz sleeves are supplied with “O” rings. Please see below :
